Connect plant images with machine data.

You know your system. Machine Designer finds the data for it.

Existing plant images and visualizations already contain a wealth of knowledge about your production process. Labels for temperatures, pressures, drives, or plant areas are often represented exactly as production managers know them. Machine Designer leverages this existing information to facilitate access to the associated machine data.

From Plant Image to Data Point

1. Import Plant Image

Use an existing plant or HMI image as a starting point.

2. Recognizing Information

Machine Designer recognizes labels in the image and searches for relevant information in the available machine data.

3. Assign Machine Data

Suitable data points are suggested and can be related to the information from the visualization.

What happens technically?

Machine Designer uses optical character recognition (OCR) to read labels from plant images. The recognized terms are then compared with the available information from the connected machine.
A production manager may be familiar with the term "tool temperature" from a plant visualization – but not with the corresponding technical OPC-UA-NodeId.
Machine Designer bridges the gap between this familiar view of the plant and the technical data structure in the background.
